So Worth It!

Today stated off relatively hectic. I dealt with a little more traffic than usual on my commute from the drab IE to the dazzling OC, which is never fun. However, the extra time in the car gave me more of an opportunity to really Dazzle it up with my eye shadow (i don't drive, i carpool to work so no need to fear me on the freeway. lol!) once again I busted out my fabulous MK Mineral Eye Colors and paired the beautiful Sweet Plum with some fantastic colors from my BH Party Girl Palette. I'm wearing all black today with an awesome royal blue heel so i figured that I could really do it big and bright with my eyes. And after the initial sorrow over having left my lashes at home (pouting a little still), I brought boldness to the office! I was so excited about this look already, but then I received rave reviews from both my bosses as well as about 5 ppl that walked into the office today! (like i've said before, we don't get much traffic in here.) So even after setting up for meetings, filing receipts, trying to organize the books and keeping everyone with a full cup of coffee, I'm seriously feeling very bright and pretty today!

So ok.. On my eyes, I started with MK Mineral Eye Color in Sweet Plum all over my lid, then I used the pink found in row 3, column 3 of the BH palette and blended it from the middle of the lid and up not quite to the brow. From there, I used the shimmery pale pink in column 2 from the right, row 1 from the top. I defined my brows with the brown found in row 2 column 4 from the right and then i used the electric blue in the bottom left corner on the inner corners of my eyes. I lined my top lid and water line with a gel liner and used MK Ultimate Mascara on my ever so short and stubby little natural lashes. Lol! Of course, on my face, I used my MK Time Wise Matte-Wear Liquid Foundation in Bronze 3, MK Mineral Cheek Color in Cherry Blossom and MK Mineral Bronzing Powder in Canyon Gold. You may notice that while some things will change up, I will NEVER use any other foundation or bronzer! The MK Time Wise Liquid Foundation, weather Luminous or Matte- wear are so easy to blend, so easy to match and feel so super light on my skin! And who really wants to go without a bronzer that gives a glow without that dirty look? NO ONE! So, yea... that's this look. OH! I also used MK NouriShine Lip Gloss on my lips!

My Hair...

I get a LOT of compliments on my hair. I've been gradually going blonde for almost a year now and I'm fully blonde now and not only do I love it, it seems to be popular with the strangers I run into on a day to day basis. Lol! So I figured that I would share the brand of dye I use (although, u can use whatever kind u like) as well as what I do to keep my very fine and delicate hair shiny and strong as well as keeping it from breaking so much from the damage. First off, I know that not everyone is inclined to use Dark and Lovely product, however, just because the lady on the box doesn't look like u, doesn't mean that the dye won't nourish your hair... and that goes vise versa. feel free to use a dye that u feel has the things that u want in a dye. Read reviews and make a well thought out choice... if ur coloring at home, that is. So... yea... I use Dark and Lovely in Luminous Blonde....
This is my favorite for 2 reasons, It really lifts my hair color, and the conditioner that they provide is amazing!
Of course, you want your hair to NOT break off from being put through such a harsh process, so to maintain a healthy head of hair, I like to use a mixture that you can totally make at home!
2 tbsp Mayonnaise for cholesterol....

1 Egg for protein...
mixture applied after washing the dye out of my hair...

1/2 cup of olive oil for moisture...

freshly dyed and treated with the olive oil, egg and mayonnaise mixture....
This mixture is easy to throw together and you leave it on for about 10-20 minutes in a shower cap and then wash out and condition as u normally would. Do this once every 1 or 2 weeks in between coloring to keep your hair from breaking and looking so dull from being processed. It's pretty awesome!
I don't always wear my hair straight, but when I do, I make sure that I wait a couple of days to a week after I color it.... just to give it a little break.

Hope u'll try this and enjoy!
P.S. U can use this mixture on your hair even if it's never been colored... so do.

An Ordinary Day Can Use A Little Razzle Dazzle!

Hey all! I happen to have a regular office job and, for the most part, I don't get much contact with the outside world when I'm on the clock. While this used to mean doing the bare minimum with my hair, makeup and wardrobe, I finally realized that an ordinary day can use a little Razzle Dazzle! You never know who's gonna walk into the office or who's face you can light up just by making a statement with your look! So I've decided that, even on my most exhausted and unwilling days, I have to Dazzle at least my computer. HA! Anyhoo, today, I feel like a barbie! And I mean that in the most fabulous way possible! Check it!....

So, for this look, I used the BH Party Girl Palette, and the colors I used were the darker grey found in the fourth column from the right, second color from the bottom and the lighter grey directly to the left of that one. I also used a little bit of the pale shimmery pink found in the second column from the right at the very top. to define my brows, I used the dark brown found in the fourth column from the right, second color from the top. Kiss lashes #05 (my favs right now). On my face, MK Time Wise Matte-Finish Liquid Foundation in Bronze 3. MK Mineral Cheek Color in Cherry Blossom and MK Mineral Bronzing Powder in Canyon Gold. On my lips, MK Lip Balm (excess blotted off), Wet N Wild Lipstick in 511B (excess blotted off) and then I used my finger to dab my lips with the same shimmery pale pink found in the second column from the right at the very top.
Love Love LOVE this look today!!! ;-)

A Little Sea foam, A Lotta Pink!

Going to get my nails done with no makeup is like... well.. it's just wrong! Granted, I think that going just about anywhere without makeup is wrong, but there's just something about walking out of the nail shop with a fresh set and a flawless face that just makes me feel like a lady... even if the skin around my eye brows is a little red. LOL! So in order to prepare for a fill and eye brow wax, I decided on a little Sea foam and a lotta Pink, and of course, some lashtastic action!.....
So, this look is almost completely BH.... as far as shadow and lips go... I used the pink found in the third column second color from the bottom, the Sea foam color found in the third column, bottom color, from the crease to the outer brow i used the pink found in the fourth column, second color from the bottom. I defined my brows with the dark brown in the third column from the right, second color from the bottom. MK Mineral Eye Color in Coal along the lash line where my Kiss brand #05 lashes are glued and MK Ultimate Mascara in Black on my lower lashes. On my face, MK Time Wise Matte-Finish Liquid Foundation in Bronze 3, MK Mineral Cheek Color in Cherry Blossom, and MK Mineral Bronzing Powder in Canyon Gold. On my lips, I used MK Lip Balm and then used my finger to dab on the pink found in the fourth column, second color from the top.

I absolutely LOVE this look! What do you think?

Animal Inspiration! (red macaw)

So... I was watching animal planet or nat geo... one of those networks... and there was a show about the wildlife of the amazon. Needless to say, just about everything in the jungle has amazing color and is super captivating, but seeing a flock of Red Macaws was just unreal! My favorite color is red so the vibrancy of all of the birds flying together just stuck in my head. I just got a new eye shadow palette from BH Cosmetics and they just happen to have the right colors needed to mock the fantastic colors of the red macaw. Check it out.....

For this look, I used the red on the far left column, second from the bottom of the BH Party Girl Palette, the yellow on the top row, fourth from the right, MK Mineral Eye Color in Peacock Blue as well as the bright blue seen in the lower left corner of this palette, over the top of the colors and into the outer brow, I used the shimmery white found in the top row, third from the right. I used a gel liner on both my upper lash line as well as my water line and I defined my brows (that r in desperate need of a waxing) with MK Mineral Eye Color in Coal. MK Ultimate Mascara on my lower lashes and Kiss brand lashes #05 on top! Enjoy!!!...

Makeover Time! (Kasaundra)

A friend of mine, whom I've known for years has a daughter who, I have to say, has grown into a fabulous young lady and mother! Kasaundra is young and beautiful and was looking for a foundation that was easy to apply and didn't feel heavy as well as an all around glow from popping eyes to beautiful skin. I didn't want to go too outrageous with her, but I think after this ice-breaker makeup session, I made go over the top with her next time! Check out Kasaundra's Before and After!....
After applying MK Time Wise Matte-Finish Liquid Foundation in Bronze 7, I used MK Mineral Cheek Color in Golden Copper and MK Mineral Bronzing Powder in Canyon Gold. On Kasaundra's lips, I used MK NouriShine Lip Gloss in Pink Sateen.
This is in natural sunlight...

On Kasaundra's Eyes, I started with Mary Kay Eye Primer, then I used MK Mineral Eye Colors in Sweet Plum, Amber Blaze, Silky Caramel and Copper Glow. I used MK Mineral Eye Color in Coal to define her brows. I used a gel liner  to line her eyes and MK Ultimate Mascara in Black on her lashes.

Makeover Time! (Jovanna)

I have a friend named Jovanna who has an 8-month-old
baby boy and is trying to get back into feeling great about herself, as well as trying to burst into wearing makeup on a regular basis. A total dream come true for me, right? She wants to be more adventurous with her makeup as far as colors and technique and just needs a little push in the right direction.... So I shoved her into some serious Blue! Lol! And the best part is that SHE LOVED IT!!! Check out Jovanna's Before and After!.....

On Jovanna's eyes, I started with Mary Kay Eye Primer then I used MK Mineral Eye Colors in Coal, Peacock Blue, Azure (which was her fav!) and Silky Caramel. I defined her brows with MK Mineral Eye Color in Coal, lined her eyes with a gel liner and applied MK Ultimate Mascara in Black. For her face, I used MK Time Wise Matte-Finish Liquid Foundation in Bronze 3, MK Mineral Cheek Color in Golden Copper and MK Mineral Bronzing Powder in Canyon Gold. Finally, on her lips, I applied MK NouriShine Lip Gloss in Pink Sateen! I think she looks amazing!
P.S.: I asked and she opted not to let her hair down. LOL! Ladies who wrap their hair, you know that once you get it swirled right, you kinda just wanna leave it up until the last minute. ;-)
