Hibiscus It Is!

I've been a lot more adventurous with my lip colors this past year and a half... and by adventurous, i me wearing more than just lip gloss. I've found some fun pinks and reds that I really liked, but today, I just stumbled upon my new ABSOLUTE FAVORITE lipstick! So I've had my eye one this color for, like, months now and I finally got the courage up to just get it and try it out. It's Mary Kay Cream Lipstick in Hibiscus and.... I just love it!... thought I'd share that. lol ;-)
via my webcam at work...

and from my phone!

Ok, so I don't only LOVE the color, I love the ease in which it goes on (meaning it only takes 1 sweep to get this vibrant color... although who stops at 1 sweep?), as well as how my lips don't feel dried out after a couple of hours.... they did feel a bit dryer after I ate a million polly seeds (yes, i said polly seeds, and i refuse to call them anything else) but who's wouldn't. and even then, all I had to do was add a light sweep to renew it and BOOM! that's what ur seeing in these pics... these r post polly seed photos ppl! hahahahahaha! anywoo, I also picked up MK Cream Lipstick in Red and i'm looking forward to killing the game with that as well. lol! don't deprive urself of amazing color like this ppl... i regret waiting so long to get this lipstick! ;-*

Trying New Things on My Hair...

For the most part, I've never stuck with just 1 product on my hair. Aside from the protein treatment and the brand of dye I use, I'm always looking for something that will make me fall in love with my hair all over again. Lol! Since my hair is curly/ wavy, fine and color-treated, my main concerns are usually moisture, softness and shine. But as of maybe a few months ago, I noticed that breakage is much worse than it used to be.... yes, this is common with the blonde... and i've been slackin on my protein treatment... shut up. But I had chopped off something like 2.5 inches of my hair, thinking it would continue to grow at its normal rate... and it didn't... well, it did. I still needed to hit up these roots right around the same time, but it didn't seem to be getting much longer. THESE ARE THE BREAKS! hahahahahaha! so taking better care of my hair, usually keeps it from breaking and I just dropped the ball... what to do?... try something I saw in a commercial of course! Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion shampoo and conditioner. Seriously?... $2.97 in hell- i mean at walmart? WINNING!
I got the color care for obvious reasons

I almost grabbed the leave-in treatment as well, but I figured since that was geared toward the health of my hair, I'd get something else that was more for the health of my scalp. so.... LOVE the shampoo and conditioner instantly! Love the smell, the texture and Love the way my hair feels after 2 uses... now... usually, 2 days later I wouldn't have washed my hair twice yet... but the product that I decided to try for my scalp health and growth promotion was......

Dr. Miracle Hot Grow... it says that it tingles and promotes growth and moisturizes and strengthen and all of that and it says that u should massage it into ur scalp twice per day... well... i don't have the thirstiest of scalps/ hair and I really don't know how else to describe my hair other than that it's the kind of hair that white or latino ppl have when they have curly hair... it's not thick, it's not coarse... it's curly/wavy and it takes a lot of scrunching to get it to have the kind of volume that i like.... so.. this stuff is like grease... grease on a white girl's hair is never good, even when it's curly... so yea... that means i had/ have to wash my hair more often. Weird that I used to wash it less so I would retain more moisture and shine and now I have to wash it more to maintain a non-greasey head of hair... idk how I like it so I'm going to keep it up until I can genuinely tell if it works or not. I read some reviews for it and everyone, except those with braids said how greasy it was and I was relieved to see a review from a caucasion woman who says she had pretty coarse hair and had to stray from the twice per day rules and wash a little more often to see the kind of results that she like... Anyhoo, my hair is much shinier already and it appears to like what i'm doing to it... we'll see how my hair feels in a few weeks tho.... All in all, right now, I say try the suave professionals. It's great!

Another Entry... Maybe

So i told u all about the Inglot Tropical Looks competition and how u can submit multiple looks and blah blah blah... i've post 3 looks and i worked on another and it didn't quite blow me away, but i still think i may post in... what do u think?...

It's the best place ever for a makeup-addict, so check it out: https://www.makeupbee.com/profile.php ... go ahead and drop me a vote as well. lol! Anyhoo, the site also posts contests where there are expectations and guidelines to follow and the members can enter and then share their entries on facebook, blogs, twitter, etc. The current contest is the Inglot Tropical Looks contest and there are great prizes to win. For me, the word tropical can cover so many things from islands to animals to... FRUIT! lol! I entered my Macaw inspired look that u can find here on the blog, as well as the pink/ seafoam look. Then I turned to one of my favorite tropical fruits as inspiration... check it out....

Birthday Girl!!!

One of my dazzlers who had allowed me to use her gorgeous face for a makeover post, booked me to add some razzle-dazzle to her face for her birthday! I like to make sure that every client is as hands-on as they'd like, so color and style is really thanks to the lovely Kan. The main things she was looking for were a bold color on her eyes, super winged liner, individual lashes and a pink lip. So much fun! Check out the finished product! ;-D

BRUSHES!!!

So, I've been asked a few times how I do what I do as far as brows, sharp lines, even color distribution, and smooth foundation and the answer to all of that would be BRUSHES!!!... for the most part ;-)
The major ingredients in every look that I've created start with the brushes I use....

This is the Mary Kay Brush Set (comes with these brushes plus the fold-up case) $48.

The brushes are super soft and are labeled so u won't be confused as to what they're used for. (l-r: Powder, Blush, Shadow, Crease, Eyebrow/ Liner)

I've added to my collection 2 more brushes, one is MK and one is not...
Mary Kay Liquid Foundation Brush $10, gives me  medium/ full coverage
 with my foundation

This brush I got from Target and it's by e.l.f. $1! I used this brush to create the cat-eye shape with my shadow and I use it on my lower lash line.
The Mary Kay Brow/ Liner brush that comes in the brush kit $48, is what I use for my eye brows. I shape them with a shadow and the angled liner end and then brush them out with the brow tool.
So, that's it. There are many more brush options out there, so don't feel restricted when it comes to finding what works best for the look that you're going for.... These happen to work amazing for me and the looks that I create!

Loves It!

So the other day, I'm enjoying a day off when I get this fantastic text and photo from a great friend....
"Thought of u & Threw a lil Razzle Dazzle into my routine this morning"
This totally made my day!!! I love the classic smokey eye in, what I'm assuming to be MK Mineral Eye Color in Peacock Blue, along with a few other colors. I really appreciated the s/o and was super glad that, at some point in time, I encouraged someone to bring some Razzle-Dazzle into the the game. Thnx again Puddin! Loves It!
